Thomas Clayton, Jr., son of Thomas Clayton, dec., and Ann [Clayton] Hunt, all of Richmond County, Virginia, apprentices himself to James Griffin, joiner, to learn "the trade or mystery of joiner and house carpenter" for the term of five years, beginning 9 October 1745. Endorsed by M. Beckwith, Clerk of the Court for Richmond County.
