Washington Begins March to Yorktown
Learning that Lafayette is holding Cornwallis's army at Yorktown and a major French fleet under the Comte de Grasse is on its way to the Chesapeake with thousands of troops, George Washington and the Comte de Rochambeau begin the march from New York and New England to Virginia.
