Richard Henry Lee Suggests Intercolonial Committees of Correspondence
In a letter to John Dickinson, Lee writes that to understand each other and keep properly informed of events on both sides of the Atlantic, "that not only select committees should be appointed by all the colonies, but that a private correspondence should be conducted between the lovers of liberty in every province."
