Quartering Act Passes
Parliament passes the Quartering Act, requiring provincial authorities to provide barracks and supplies for regular troops stationed in the colonies upon request of the commander-in-chief and authorizing the use of taverns, inns, and uninhabited houses and barns, if necessary (occupied, private residences were excluded).
